Select 5 design principles from the list below:

1.0 Gestalt theory

I got inspirations from these two pictures I found on Pinterest. I came out with an idea of combining these two designs, making the background as two women telling stories and what they said was wrote by the pen.

As I finished the draft, I feel like the idea works but looks a little bit plain and boring.

I try to add some different colours for visual contrast and also moles to make the two women look more lively.

2.0 Contrast

I decided to make a four frame contrast artwork instead of just one after I saw this picture.

Figure 2.2 was my first draft for colours selection and I haven't decided what main object I can put for the center. Then, in my second draft(figure2.3) I decided to put something black as the main object and made some space between each colour to balance out the colours.

At the end, I decided to add some contrast colour streaks to enrich the artwork and make the picture more interesting.

3.0 Emphasis

I got the inspiration from this picture(figure 3.1) I found on Pinterest. I drew the first draft on paper. (figure 3.2) The idea is emphasising a person in a crowd.

I added some colour to make the emphasis works and also did some other adjustment using Adobe Photoshop.

4.0 Balance

I got the idea of making my balance design principle artwork as a poker card after I saw these two design from Pinterest.

I added some elements that I like as the design of poker card. Every element is symmetrical including the background design.

5.0 Harmony & Unity

I want to do landscape related artwork for this design principle, so I search for something similar on Pinterest and found figure 5.1 and figure 5.2.
